Democrats Kick-Off 2012 Campaign

Last Thursday, Lawrence Democrats braved 100-plus degree temperatures to attend the 2012 Kansas Democratic Campaign Kick-Off and help Democratic candidates get a head start on this fall’s elections.

Democratic candidates for U.S. Representative, Kansas State Senate, and Kansas State House joined with supporters to sip a few margaritas, discuss the upcoming campaign, and mobilize Democratic voters.2nd Congressional Candidate Tobias Schlingensiepen

Candidates mingled and addressed the crowd, focusing on how we can make sure Kansas working families get back on track and how best to protect Kansas schools against opponents in the legislature and Governor’s mansion.

In attendance were Tobias Schlingensiepen and Robert V. Eye, US Second Congressional District candidates; Nancy Thellman, Douglas County Commissioner candidate; Kansas State Senate candidates Sen. Tom Holland, Sen. Marci Francisco, and Lisa Johnston; and John Wilson, candidate for Kansas House.

The KDP would like to thank everyone who turned out to make sure Kansas Democrats can spread their message of education, opportunity, and responsibility this fall.

We are now one step closer to electing responsible leaders who will return commonsense to Topeka and do what is best for all Kansans.
