Meet the Staff
Kerry Gooch, Executive Director
Joined the Kansas Democratic Party as Political Director in July of 2013. Kerry is a graduate of Kansas State University where he earned a degree in Political Science. Before joining the KDP, Kerry spent a year working in governmental relations, helping to institue a successful wind energy grassroots campaign and supporting legislation before the Kansas Legislature. At the same time, Kerry served as the Finance Intern for the Kansas Democratic Party, assisting in statewide fundraising efforts and capitol campaigns. Kerry is a Wichita-native and is easily the best dressed KDP staff member.
Cheyenne Davis, Field and Political Director
In June of 2014, Cheyenne joined the Kansas Democratic Party as a field organizer in Shawnee County before becoming the Regional Director for the counties of Wyandotte and Leavenworth in January, 2015. She later transitioned to the position of Field and Political Director in August of 2015. Cheyenne is a graduate of the University of Kansas where she earned her degree in Political Science, American Studies, and History. Before joining the KDP, Cheyenne served as an intern for the Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission Legal Department, and for the Kansas Legislature as an intern for Senate Minority Leader Anthony Hensley. While attending KU, Cheyenne was student director for the Anschutz Library T.R. Smith Map Collection. Cheyenne is from the capitol city of Topeka, and is a devoted fan of the Kansas Jayhawks.
Kyle Gardner, Finance Director
Kyle Gardner has been an active member of the Democratic Party serving as President of the Kansas Young Democrats and Chair of the Douglas County Democratic Party. While pursuing his Political Science degree from the University of Kansas, Kyle interned for (then) Kansas House Democratic Leader Paul Davis. After graduating, he worked for Margie Wakefield’s campaign for the second congressional district as Deputy Finance Director, later transitioning to Wakefield’s Field Director and Scheduler. As Fundraising Director, Kyle will implement plans to increase statewide fundraising efforts in order to ensure that all Kansas Democratic Party candidates have the resources to be successful in 2016 and the future. Kyle is from Lawrence and enjoys camping, hiking, basketball, frisbee golf, and trying to dress better than Kerry.
Daniel Murdock, Digital and Operations Director
Daniel joined the Kansas Democratic Party as the Digital and Operations Director in August of 2015 after interning with the KDP as a Political Intern. Daniel is a graduate of the University of Kansas, earning a degree in Sociology with a minor in Business. Prior to joining the KDP, he interned with Barnardos Charity in Dublin, Ireland where he worked with the policy team to advocate for the rights of children. Daniel is native to Kansas City and enjoys Royals baseball and speciality coffee.
