Meet the Staff

Jason Perkey, Executive Director

Joined the Kansas Democratic Party as Executive Director in January 2012.  A native of Louisville, KY, Jason comes to Kansas having worked on presidential, gubernatorial, congressional, state legislative, and municipal campaigns in Kentucky, Illinois, and Virginia.  In 2010, Perkey managed one of only two races won by a Democratic candidate over a Republican incumbent in Kentucky, as well as managing one of the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee's Essential Top 20 "Must Win" races.  In 2008, Perkey left his career litigating National Security Whistleblower Protection Act cases in Washington, D.C., responding to President Barack Obama's call to action by joining Barack Obama's presidential campaign as an organizer in Central Virginia.  Perkey earned a political science degree from Coker College in Hartsville, S.C. and a law degree from Vermont Law School.  He also played golf professionally, competing in golf tournaments in both the United States and Europe.

Dakota Loomis, Communications Director

Joined the Kansas Democratic Party as Director of Communications in February of 2012.  A Kansas native, Dakota has served in multiple Democratic elected officials' offices, most recently spending three years as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Shawnee County District Attorney Chad Taylor . Dakota previously served as the Director of Research under Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius and in Kansas Attorney General Paul Morrison’s Civil Law Division.  Loomis earned a political science degree from Carleton College in Northfield, MN and his Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law. He did not play golf professionally in the United States, Europe, or anywhere else for that matter.

Kaelyn Seymour, Field & Training Director

Joined the Kansas Democratic Party as Field & Training Director in July of 2011.  Before coming to the KDP, Kaelyn was the field director for Clean Air Kansas, a grassroots organization that spearheaded the successful passage of the statewide public place smoking ban. She has interned in the Kansas House, Kansas Senate, Kansas Governor's Office and for the Democratic National Committee.  Kaelyn earned her undergraduate degree in public administration from Washburn University and is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Communication and Leadership Studies.  Kaelyn is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., where she serves as secretary and chair of the civic activity committee. 

Mollie Moravac, Fundraising Director

Joined the Kansas Democratic Party as Fundraising Director in May of 2012. Mollie is a recent grad of the University of Kansas where she earned a degree in political science. Over the past year, Mollie served as the Finance Intern for the Kansas Democratic Party where she assisted in fundraising efforts across the state.  She is also an active member of Delta Delta Delta Sorority. Mollie is a native Kansan who has lived in Shawnee, Kansas her whole life.
