The Kansas Coordinated Campaign is now hiring! Join the team in the Midwest's newest battleground state. In 2008, Kansas will host two of the most targeted Congressional races in the Midwest in KS-02 and KS-03, as well as an emerging US Senate race. At the center of this excitement is the Kansas Coordinated Campaign. The Coordinated Campaign is now hiring Field Organizers to direct canvasses, coordinate volunteers, register voters, and lead early ballot campaigns.

Kansas Democratic Party Coordinated Campaign Organizers are under the general supervision of Regional Field Directors. Organizers are responsible for direct voter contact that occurs in their assigned geography. Most organizers focus on coordinating volunteer operations or paid canvass operations, although there is overlap. Organizers will be based from one of our regional offices, located throughout Kansas.
Kansas Democratic Party Coordinated Campaign Job Duties
- Serve as the District Director's point person for the day-to-day operations of the paid and/or volunteer canvass.
- Train volunteers and paid canvassers
- Recruit volunteers and paid canvassers, ensuring the availability of a sufficient number of each
- Assign projects to office volunteers and interns
- Assist Director with determining turf covered each day.
- Contact and involve new volunteers
- Print walklists daily
- On each day that canvassers go into the field, be in charge of one team of canvassers
- Develop effective strategies for the collection of Advance Ballots and voter registration
- Ensure that data entry is entered correctly and promptly.
- Ensure that all voter Registrations and Advance Ballots are recorded and turned in correctly and promptly
- Assist Regional Director with planning for Election Day
- Serve as a liaison between the KSDP and County Parties
- Advise Regional Director regarding the needs and concerns County Parties
- Inform County Parties of resources available from the KSDP
- Assist County Parties with training of precinct activists
- Serve as the Democrat Party's presence at County Party meetings as needed
- Organize, build, and run campaign events as directed by Regional Director
- Serve as a liaison between candidates who are campaigning in your area and Regional Director
- Advise KSDP regarding candidate's needs
- Build and maintain relationships with key individuals w/in community
Ideal applicants will have the following experience and skills:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- Experience in direct voter contact
- Must be organized, responsible, and able to work independently under pressure
- Excellent writing and speaking communication skills
- Computer literacy required
