About
State Representative Tom Holland has represented the 10th House District since January 2003. He is the ranking minority member on the House Taxation committee and also serves on the House Health and Human Services committee and the House Government Efficiency and Technology committee.Tom is 46 years old. He has been married for over 27 years to his wife Barbara. They have four children: Thomas (Age 26 - Kansas University graduate), Derek (Age 22 – Baker University Senior), Brandon (Age 19 – Kansas University Freshman), and Louisa (Age 12 – Schwagler Elementary School Sixth Grader).
Tom is an active member of Plymouth Congregational Church in Lawrence, KS where he previously served as the Annual Appeal chairman and as chairman of the Stewardship Committee. He launched the “Gathering of Grace” alternative worship service and has served as both music director and musician for the service. Tom has coached Lawrence youth baseball teams for several years and has also served as a Cub Scouts den leader. While attending college, he also participated in the Big Brothers / Big Sisters program in Monroe County, Indiana.
Tom is president of Holland Technologies, Inc., an Information Technology consulting and professional services firm that has been in existence for over 14 years. He has over 25 years of experience in the Information Technology industry and is a certified Project Management Professional. His organization received Deloitte & Touche’s Technology “Fast Fifty” Award for Kansas and Western Missouri for both 1999 and 2000. He was previously a manager of management consulting services for Price Waterhouse and prior to that served as an Executive Account Systems Engineer for IBM Tom has earned a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Minnesota and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Indiana University.
As a state representative, Tom received recognition in 2003 from the Kansas Disability Caucus for leadership in addressing the need to fund programs for people with disabilities. He serves as advisory council co-chair of the Kansas Small Business Development Center. The Kansas Small Business Development Center works with small businesses, start-ups and entrepreneurs to help them compete and grow in today’s highly competitive global economy.
