Candidate for Kansas Senate - District 8

My primary areas of concern are Education, Economic Development and Health Care.

Education: As a person who worked my way through college and law school while holding down a full time job, I know the educational challenges facing working parents. Raising three children as a single parent gave me additional insight into parenting challenges. Education is special priority for me as our future is in our kids, and they must have the skills to compete in a tougher world economy. I will fight for new resources for education so vital to our future.

Economic Development: Johnson County must continue to lead the state in economic development. It is through growth and economic stimulus that jobs are created and maintained. I would work to grow and develop businesses which support the value-added business community in Johnson County and across the state.

Health Care: Access to health care in this county has become a major crisis. Something has to be done to help those who cannot afford their medications, preventative health care or visits to the doctor. I believe my experience in investigating health care plans with the Federal Government gives me a tremendous advantage in the area of health care problems.
