About

Andrew Rickel, is a 20 year old native of Garnett, Kansas and is the Democratic candidate for the Kansas 12th Senate District.

Andrew will be a junior at Kansas State University next year, where he is studying music education and economics.

He graduated from Anderson County High School, Garnett, where he was drum major for the high school band, a teacher of multi-media and computers for the area school's after-school program as well as a teachers' summer in-service workshop and served on a school board committee that guided his school district to adopt a healthier lunch program.

His parents are Cleon and Debra Rickel. His father is on the Anderson County USD 365 school board. His siblings are David, who will be a senior at ACHS, and John and Miranda Rickel, who are twins and will be freshmen at ACHS.
He is proud to have lived in Kansas all his life. Andrew loves this state, It has been his home and he hopes it always will be. That love is what has brought Andrew to this point and what he hopes will be the opportunity to serve the citizens of Franklin, Miami, Linn and Anderson counties.
