Born in Parsons, Kansas in 1948 . Educated in the public school system in Labette County,David recieved an AA from Labatette Community College in 1966 and a BS (1970) and MS(1973) from Pittsburg State University in Political Science.David served in the Marine Corps in 1971 and was a member of the Kansas House of Representatives from 1973 to 1977. A plumber by trade he served on the Board of Directors vof the Kansas PHCC and is a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union #441. Married, he and Chris have adult sons.
