Thomas Hochard
Candidate for Kansas Senate - District 21
About
My name is Thomas Hochard. I live south of Frankfort where I help run my family farm. I’m a Registered Nurse. I hold current nursing licenses in Arizona, Kansas and Missouri. I received my Bachelor of Sciences in Nursing, from Mid-America Nazarene University. I’m presently employed at Mercy Regional Health Center as a charge nurse, on a medical-oncology unit. I’ve worked in Healthcare more than twenty years and have seen many changes over this time. My greatest reward as a Registered Nurse is being there, for patients, in their time of need. Prior to every shift, I say two prayers. One, for me, that I have the strength to be the best I can be in every aspect of patient care. Two, that my patients find their way.
I also own and have operated several Professional Nurse staffing agencies in and around northeast Kansas. Prior to staffing hospitals in the northeast area, my companies were contracted with privileges in approximately 19 hospitals in and around the Kansas City Metro area. I was also certified and taught Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation and Advanced Cardio-Pulmonary Life Support. In 2000 I wrote and published a book advocating nurses.
As your State Senator, I will fight for initiatives that benefit Northeast Kansas; affordable healthcare; continued support and funding for public education; quality schools; a healthy and growing economy; no child left behind; property rights and responsible energy policies, among others.
