The Kansas Democratic Party will be offering a limited number of tickets to give Kansans the opportunity to see Sen. Obama accept the Democratic nomination for President – LIVE – in Denver on August 28th, 2008.

“Sen. Obama has already brought thousands of new Kansans into the Democratic Party and into the political process - people who may never have voted in an election before or taken part in a Convention," said Kansas Democratic Party Chair Larry Gates.

“Obama is opening the doors of the Democratic National Convention to all the voters united behind his campaign for change and the Kansas Democratic Party is excited to help him offer this opportunity to voters across our state.”

All Kansans are eligible to enter the drawing to win two tickets to this historic event. Details of the drawing are as follows:

1. Participants can enter by calling the Kansas Democratic Party at (785) 234-0426, ext. 105, or by signing up at the Kansas Democratic Party headquarters: 700 SW Jackson, Topeka, KS 66603.


2. The phone line will be open Monday, August 11th through Wednesday, August 13th from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Walk-in reservations will be accepted from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. starting Monday, August 11th and ending Wednesday, August 13th.


3. All phone and walk-in reservations must be received before 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13th.


4. Winners of the drawing will be selected at random and notified on Thursday, August 14th. Ticket winners must be available to pick up their tickets on August 16th-17th and will be responsible for their own lodging and transportation to and from Denver.
