Newspaper reader surveys have shown that the letters to the editor page is one of the most closely read parts of the newspaper.

Tips for writing a letter to the editor*:
â?¢ State the point of your letter clearly and at the beginning
â?¢ Make your letter timely
â?¢ Rely on facts rather than rhetoric
â?¢ State your argument and the facts rather than inflammatory remarks or name calling, this will make your letter more likely to be printed
â?¢ Keep your letter brief and typed if possible
â?¢ Include your name, signature, address and phone number
â?¢ Find others to write letters about the same issue (If your letter doesn't get published, perhaps someone else's on the same topic will)
â?¢ Monitor the paper for your letter. If your letter has not appeared within a week or two, follow up with a call to the newspaperâ??s editorial department

attack on PBS

The Republicans are trying to either kill PBS and NPR or finish turning it into another FOX news. They are complaining that it dosen't present conservative views enough. I guess Tucker Carlson and Buccanan are screaming liberals now. Also many Right wing Christian leaders are reading alot into the kids shows (probably reflections of their own problems) that is just not there and wanting the childrens programing killed. I have not seen any mention of this from the Democrats. Moveon.org has a petition with close to a million signers in less than a week. But nothing from here.
