Bill Richardson served in Congress for 15 years and helped pass the economic plan that created millions of jobs and led to the first balanced budget in 30 years.
As Secretary of Energy and Governor of New Mexico, he implemented tough efficiency standards to save energy and move toward renewable resources.
Richardson negotiated the release of hostages, American servicemen and political prisoners in North Korea, Iraq, and Cuba. Because of this diplomatic work, he was nominated four times for the Nobel Peace Prize and served as Ambassador to the UN.
Richardson has been married to his high school sweetheart, Barbara, for 35 years.

I support Governor Richardson because I used to live in New Mexico where he has single handedly turned the state from one of the poorest, worst states in the nation into one that is better. He has worked hard to create more jobs and a better quality of life for the people in NM. Richardson has overwhelming support from the people of NM and is their most popular Governor. I've seen him in multiple town hall meetings and he listened to his constituents and then acted on those ideas and concerns. Richardson would be a great President.Kara N. Dillard, Manhattan
