The Caucus

On February 5, 2008 the Kansas Democratic Party will hold presidential caucuses in each senate district across the state. Kansans attending the caucuses will gather with Democrats from their community to voice support for their favorite presidential candidate.

These caucuses are part of the national process of nominating the Democratic candidate for President. The process culminates with the Democratic National Convention during the week of August 25-28 in Denver, Colorado. Here, Kansas’ delegates will help nominate the best Democrat to lead our country in a new direction.

The Kansas Democratic Party caucuses give Kansans a chance to meet other Democrats in their area and engage in grassroots campaigning. All registered Democrats are eligible to participate and voter registration forms will be available at each caucus location for those wishing to register for the first time or change their party affiliation.

We strongly encourage Kansans interested in participating in the caucus to sign up to stay informed about caucus locations and updates as they become available.
