KANSAS DEMOCRATIC PARTY STATEMENT ON THE OUTCOME OF THE KANSAS STATE TREASURER RACE

Topeka, KS – The Kansas Democratic Party Chair, Vicki Hiatt, released the following statement on the outcome of the Kansas State Treasurer election.      

“Treasurer Rogers has saved Kansas taxpayers millions of dollars, advocated for bipartisan solutions like a ‘Work and Save’ program for Kansas seniors, worked diligently to return unclaimed property to help put money back in taxpayers’ pockets, partnered with VFW and American Legion posts across Kansas to return nearly 100 military medals to veterans and their families, and provided crucial relief to Kansas’ cities and municipalities at a critical moment amid soaring natural gas prices,” said KDP Chair Vicki Hiatt.  

“A former banker, school board member, and a committed public servant, Lynn Rogers has served Kansas well as our Treasurer these last few years. While this isn’t the outcome any of us had hoped, we thank him for his service to Kansas as an honest and prudent steward of taxpayer dollars.”
